Black and gold.
21 February 2009 @ 23:24 ; 0 CommentsAward shows have never been that interesting to me, aside from the MTV Video Music Awards. Even then that has gone downhill since Britney stopped performing there (I'm trying not to bring up the image of her fat-ass, fake blonde extension self "singing and dancing" to Gimme More).
Monday morning, the 81st Academy Awards will be screened live on our humble television sets. Previous years, I couldn't care less about the show. So what if it's the cream of the crop when it comes to awarding actors the most coveted prize for their hard work? Most of the time they get it all wrong. Everyone and their mother knows that the Academy dishes it out to the most unlikely of nominees.
However, this February 22nd I will be staying glued because... apparently the results of the Oscars have been leaked on the Net! Yes, the controversial list was made known a few days prior to the ceremony, and has brought about - what else is new here - a stream of opinions.
Actor in a leading role: Mickey RourkeNow, almost everyone is for certain that this is a fake through and through, since according to The Telegraph, no one knows who will get that oh-so-coveted golden statuette except for the announcers themselves. Oh, and the people counting the votes as we blog and gossip and speculate.

It's a given that Heath Ledger should be awarded for his portrayal in The Dark Knight. Agreed? No questions about it. The other categories, I'm not too hung up about, although Amy Adams over Penelope Cruz? I do believe the latter deserved it more.(Oh, and Mickey Rourke is scary, no?) Apart from that... SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE FTW.
Oh, and if Kate Winslet is snubbed, YET AGAIN, for anyone else, I swear I will break my television and go into a pseudo-psychopathic tirade that will last for eternity. Especially if she loses out to Anne Hathaway. Bah.

Need I say more? Destined to win.
